BABY SCRAPBOOK IDEAS
Time flies by so quickly, we all wish we could just stop it sometimes and be able to reset and reflect on life as it’s unfolding before us. Nowhere is this more true than when a new baby arrives in your life. Of course we can’t freeze time, but a baby scrapbook is a great way to preserve some of the important moments in your new baby’s life … and let’s face, isn’t every moment an important one, even the most ordinary?
Here are some baby scrapbooking ideas to help you capture your own personal memories:
Baby Scrapbook Idea #1:
Start Scrapbooking BEFORE the Special Delivery!
You can start working on your baby scrapbook as soon as you find out you’re expecting.
There will be lots of opportunities for photos and mementoes – and probably your last chance for quiet time to put it all together and write down your thoughts and feelings! There’s the ultrasound photo, appointment reminders with the doctor, pictures of the mom-to-be as she grows (and grows and grows), wallpaper and paint samples from the new nursery. Include the list you made of possible names for the baby.
Remembrances and photos from the baby shower can probably fill a scrapbook of their own. Then there’s the hospital bracelet and birth certificate, plus all those terrific cards and notes from friends and family. A photo of the newborn in the car seat on the way home from the hospital would be a perfect way to close the book … and of course turn the page to a whole new beginning of life with baby (and your next baby scrapbook!).
Baby Scrapbook Idea #2:
A First Time for Everything – Scrapbooking “Firsts”!
Whether this baby is your first or your fourth, there are many notable milestone “Firsts” that can be documented in a baby scrapbook.
First bath at home, first time held by older sister or brother, first tooth, first “well baby” checkup, first birthday … everything is an important first when a brand new baby is involved! Many of these precious moments happen spontaneously and often can’t be caught in a photo, so remember to write down your memories and feelings and include those in the baby scrapbook. If there’s an artifact or memento – a lock of hair from baby’s first haircut, ribbon from a prized stuffed animal – those can be attached in the baby scrapbook as well.
Baby Scrapbook Idea #3:
Instant Baby Scrapbooks:
Order an Adesso Baby Album, and you’ve taken a great first step in creating an outstanding baby scrapbook album. Whether you use instant Polaroid albums, the digital photo guestbook album or the new ZINK albums, you can capture big and small events as they happen, and within minutes you’ve got a scrapbook-ready picture. Your Adesso Baby Scrapbook Album has room for writing personal thoughts and you can paste other small keepsake reminders on the pages as well. Use colorful pens and pencils to add pizzazz to the messages and photo captions and you’re on your way to crafting a memorable baby scrapbook that is sure to be treasured for years to come.
Baby Scrapbook Idea #4:
Scrapbooking Holidays and Highlights
Another way to focus your baby scrapbooking project is to record special days and events during the first year of baby’s life. Just think of all the holidays that will offer terrific opportunities for photos, souvenirs and written recollections: summer vacation, family birthdays and anniversaries, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas or Hanukkah, and so many more! Your baby scrapbook can end with pictures and memorabilia from baby’s first birthday … and then it’s time to start a new one!
Baby Scrapbooking Never Ends…
Don’t worry if your baby is a few months old already and you’ve been too overwhelmed by everyday life to begin working on your baby scrapbook yet – it’s not too late to start! Day by day you’ll discover opportunities and ideas that can be used in a baby scrapbooking project. Every day in a new baby’s life is special, and you can pick any occasion to start your baby scrapbook – or just an ordinary day like today. Ready, set, go!
