Decorations for a Thanksgiving party
Are you party planning for this year's Thanksgiving celebration? Adding a few decorations to your home can help set the scene for a festive gathering.
Think autumn and stick to a color scheme of maize, dark orange, red and brown - the same hues seen in the fallen leaves outside.
Place dried gourds and ears of corn on tables to create a harvest atmosphere. Dried fruits, acorns, and nuts scattered around the room are also a nice touch.
You can also use these same natural items to construct a Thanksgiving wreath or garland for your front door or banister.
Make sure you light plenty of candles to make the rooms cozy - and if you have yellow or orange Christmas lights on hand, these can add to the effect.
Pictures of turkeys and pilgrims can provide light-hearted decorations for a family feast. If you have kids, invite them to get in on the act by tracing their hands to make turkey shapes they can color in with crayons or markers.
