Party invitations 'are better personalized'

Designing innovative and unique invitations is an important aspect of party planning, it has been claimed.

According to ARAnet, whether it is for a baby shower, birthday celebration or graduation party, the host needs to remember that the personal touch is best.

The source recommended using personalized postage stamps through companies such as PictureItPostage.com which allow people to upload a favourite snap from their photo albums and design a unique stamp.

"Whether it's a picture of mom and baby at the hospital, the classic first birthday cake photo, a shot of the first day of school or the last day at graduation, your special photo can be the perfect accent to your invitation," it claimed.

Other tips for designing special invitations included colourful envelopes, bright paper and creating them by hand rather than on a computer.

Former party planning expert Karen Belasco Staitman went on to found her own customised cookie company after deciding to use the snacks as party invitations.
