More couples are seeking out a pastoral scene for their wedding photography, attracted by the natural beauty of the surroundings and a desire to be green, a report in the Press and Democrat suggests.
Farm weddings seem to be the latest trend in agritourism, attracting people who desire to get back to basics with their wedding ideas.
While countryside nuptials may appeal to some couples, others may find the unpredictability of farm life a challenge.
"This venue is for people who like the outdoors, love the romance of it and are willing to be somewhat flexible," farm owner Judy Lessler told the publication.
Guests may also find that the experience does not match the one depicted in traditional wedding photo albums.
Californians Kate Schatz and Jason Pontius described how they provided guests with gift baskets that included headlamps and flashlights, to help them navigate their rustic surroundings over their wedding weekend.
