Wedding planning for Christmas 2009?

As couples across the country set off on a honeymoon following their Christmas Day wedding, newly-engaged couples in the early stages of wedding planning may be wondering if December 25th, 2009 might just be the perfect day to tie the knot.

There are a number of potential attractions to getting hitched on this special day, not least the fact that many of your guests will be already in the holiday mood, free from work commitments and suitably ready to party even before you step foot down the aisle.

Then you have an array of Christmas themes to draw from in planning the details - from your choice of flowers (poinsettias?) to the selection of wedding music (choral arrangements are a winter favorite).

Writing for About.com, wedding expert Nina Callaway says red and green are obvious choices for your color scheme, reflecting the season's hues.

"It is likely that your church or reception site will already be decorated in red and green for other events and holiday parties," she explains, though encourages brides and grooms-to-be not to feel limited to these choices.

Silver, whites and golds may as happily complement your Christmas setting, she writes. ADNFCR-1501-ID-18945715-ADNFCR
